2027 LIPF Activity Schedule 日程表

All evening concerts start at 7:00 PM, and pre-lectures start at 6:15 PM. Concert on July 17 starts at 5:00 PM and concert on July 24 starts at 3:00 PM, no pre-lecture on July 17, and the pre-lecture on July 24 is at 2:00 PM.

2027 Piano, Voice and Chamber Music Festival

The 2027 Lancaster International Piano, Voice & Chamber Music Festival will once again take place on the beautiful campus of Franklin & Marshall College, with concerts and major festival events held at the Barshinger Center for the Musical Arts. All festival activities are conveniently located on the F&M campus, offering participants convenient housing and transportation, as well as free parking for concert patrons.

An Expanded Festival: Piano, Voice & Chamber Music

For 2027, we are delighted to expand the LIPF to include a voice program, featuring art songs, vocal repertoire with piano, and voice and chamber music collaborations. This new addition will create opportunities for singers, pianists, and instrumentalists to work together in a supportive and inspiring musical environment.

Our goal is to provide something for everyone by combining an intensive educational program with an outstanding concert series featuring internationally acclaimed artists. We are honored to welcome an exceptional faculty and guest-artist roster in 2027, including our Artist-in-Residence, Alexander Kobrin, as well as Victor Rosenbaum, Jeffrey Langford, Robert Levin, Ya-Fei Chuang, Wael Farouk, Ricardo Lugo Garay, and Anna Park.

Participants may attend the festival as active participants or observers. Throughout this eleven-day program, participants will have numerous opportunities to perform, learn, and interact with distinguished artists and teachers. Young musicians will receive three private lessons with different professors, while chamber music groups and collaborative pianists with singers will receive daily coaching and rehearsal time. Participants will also take part in educational workshops, lectures, and masterclasses focusing on piano solo, vocal, and chamber music repertoire.

Chamber Music

Chamber music has always been an important part of the LIPF, and it will remain a central component of the 2027 festival. Chamber groups will receive daily coaching and rehearsal opportunities with an outstanding group of faculty artists, including Yue Sun, James Jin, Heejin, Julian Langford, Ai-Lin Hsieh, and the American String Quartet.

We are especially honored that the American String Quartet will join us for the final LIPF appearance of their distinguished career before their retirement. We warmly invite everyone to attend their concerts and celebrate their remarkable legacy with us.

Participants in the 2027 festival will also have exciting opportunities to perform in recitals at Barshinger Hall, giving them the valuable experience of presenting their music on a professional concert stage.

2027 LIPF Piano Competition

The 2027 LIPF Piano Competition will feature a virtual preliminary round followed by an in-person final round with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra. Please visit the competition pages for complete information, requirements, and application deadlines.

Beyond the Festival

In addition to the intensive musical program, participants will have opportunities to explore the rich cultural surroundings of Lancaster. Optional activities will include visits to Lancaster’s Amish Country and/or Philadelphia, providing participants with memorable experiences beyond the concert hall and classroom.

From inspiring masterclasses and educational workshops to guest recitals, lectures, chamber music coaching, and opportunities to perform, the 2027 Lancaster International Piano, Voice & Chamber Music Festival promises an unforgettable experience for musicians of all backgrounds and levels.
