Every year we have an in-house competition in different categories. In 2017, participants should choose any one of the Scarlatti Sonatas, plus a work (or works) from their own choice, and the total time should be under 15 minutes. We will offer six prizes: 1st Prize, $1,000.00 plus a concert trip back to Lancaster sponsored by LIPF by performing one recital and one concerto with Millersville University Symphony Orchestra for the following year; 2nd Prize, $500.00; 3rd Prize, $300.00; three Honorable Mention Prizes with $100.00 each. The top three winners will also get the opportunity to play a pre-concert at the opening concert In Washington International Piano Festival at the Catholic University of America in Washington DC on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

LIPF is also offering culture seminar every day, to give an opportunity to pianists from different countries to share their own culture and language. In addition to the intensive festival's program, participants will also have many opportunities to explore cultural sights of Washington DC and Lancaster County including tours of the Capital of US, Lincoln Memorial, Kennedy Hall, Amish, Central Market, Lititz Chocolate Factory, and many more.

From master classes to guest recitals and enlightening lectures, the events of the 2017 Lancaster International Piano Festival will prove to be beneficial and inspiring to its participants as well as enhance Lancaster community with another significant cultural event. Don't miss your chance to join us this coming summer!
